Hey I found a trailer from my other forum. I thought it looked OKAY. Guess I was wrong about the game taking 2 years.... What do you guys think?

Too early to really say much about it. I'm not a fan of live action in video games, but hey maybe they can pull it off. The acting is usually horrid even if the writing is decent. I'm looking forward to this title. Even EA realized ProStreet was a bust and ****ed up. NFS has ALWAYS been about illegal street racing, moving it to real tracks is the complete opposite of what the series is based on.
For now, I'm in "Wait And See" mode.

As long as they beef up the physics away from the sticky and the ability to do a burnout while having the throttle at 1%, like they all were in MW, C, and PS, AND keep the 240sx in, im happy! ;D The best physics so far (IMO) were U2. Nice sliding action, but not glued to the ground like in U1, but yet somewhat realistic when trying to do a burnout. PS's was like a mix of the 2 and was a epic fail. OH and for goodness sake, they need to have a drift mode that is actually hard and not made so that even someone stepping on the controller doesnt get a drift.

Agreed. My biggest complaint with this series has ALWAYS been the drift mode. I played U2 online pretty regularly up until they closed the servers and we used the circuit mode physics, then glitched out of the track. That was a hell of a lot more fun that the real drift races. I mean when you're winning in drift mode with a fwd car, that s**t ain't right. I like this idea, and I will continue to "wait and see" for now.

I mean when you're winning in drift mode with a fwd car, that s**t ain't right. Yeaaa i hated those n00bs who used FWD. I mean, they have skillz no doubt; i sure as heck cant throw around a Golf like that and get 50 mil drift points. But, they are just using the wrong type of car (FWD) for that mode and it really makes it unfair to anyone who actually wants to drift and not powerslide, because they automatically get dominated by a Golf or some other FWD car........ what really kills it is how cocky the golf guys get. It's like they dont realize what they are doing is not looked highly upon by the average drift crowd. PS did away w/ that and made it only RWD, but then they changed the pysics. One thing U2 did right, was it kept the drift physics and race physics close to the same feel and not totally 1 way or the other. Yea i remember that glitch lol. That was awesome. Have they indeed shut down the U2 servers? I havent been on in a while to check. Once i heard a rumor that they were shut down, only to get on and still play online lol.

Yes they are down, I've checked several times. It wasn't that they were the wrong type of car for that mode, it was that they stayed fwd, so you can get massive amounts of angle and just snap back like nothing happened. Oversteer was virtually nonexistent. I tuned a drift mode Golf on NFSU2, you rack up points like there's no tomorrow. I couldn't bring myself to take that car online...part of me would have died inside. As far as Undercover is concerned, if they bring backa decent full chassis dyno (NFSU2) I'll be happy.

The trailers got a MW feel to it, what i want to see instead of drift physics not being to easy, they should be identical period to the other physics in the game. The dyno would be great to, I'd also like licensed body kits instead of the trash they come up with(generally). Also being a tuning type game, drivetrain swaps should be allowed I want to make an RWD drift Evo like Kumakubos (we discussed his old Impreza and current Evo in another thread) both with RWD conversions. And for gods sake have a save vinyl feature critically missing from NFSPS, if you made a second 'blueprint' you had to remake the entire vinyl system, annoying when you use the maximum layers on your drift cars.

I'd love the idea of doing drivetrain swaps, BUT I think that is a bit much to stuff into a game and do it right. I agree 100% with the physics suggestion. The vinyl save feature us far from outlandish, Juiced 2 managed to pull it off and that game fell flat on its face. A big budget NFS game should have no problem with something simple like that.

Well release day draws close for this, (21st I'm hearing) as well as trailers being released everywhere as per usual EA. I'm not liking the look of how over-the-top they seem to be making the driving, kinda like MC3 where you could pull 360s with ease. The 'drifting' in a physics vid looks absolutely (insert relevant expletive here), I really hope that was his driving and not the physics.
Either way i'm not getting this game, are you?

I might rent it definitly. Not really psycked about this NFS. I think PS ended all hope i had for the series to revert back to the good ol physics days, days where the car felt on the ground and not on a tredmill, and days where when peeling out does not make the car seem to bounce (wtf is up w/ that anyways.)
PS was good concept wise, but it should have been left up to some other designers and physics. It looks based on the 1st gameplay vid that the physics look better though so idk.

It's a tough one it must be said, my brain says it's going to be terrible, but my heart longs for the days of Hot Pursuit and High Stakes to return once again.

Don't buy it or rent it. It sucked big time. And am I the only one that loves Prostreet? The physics are great in that game and I like it because the NFS series took a transition from driving over poles in arcade to spinning out because you made a bad turn realistic.

Well yes, because they took a series deep rooted in illegal street racing and just made it a Forza wannabe. ProStreet walked away from everything that made the NFS series famous and the fans noticed.

Forza? I don't think it was anywhere near Forza. NFS and streetracing is the definition of unrealistic IMO.

I believe you misunderstood his post. NFS Prostreet was legal racing and was EA's attempt at realistic physics, and it did turn out to be a lot like a forza wannabe imo. Still a pretty fun game though, i'm pissed i lost my disc -_-
