I believe you misunderstood his post. NFS Prostreet was legal racing and was EA's attempt at realistic physics, and it did turn out to be a lot like a forza wannabe imo. Still a pretty fun game though, i'm pissed i lost my disc -_- Oh. I get it xD but I think it was still the best on the NFS Series and in some ways better than Forza. And it's pretty realistic for a first try at it.

IMO, with the exception of the lack of damage, NFS Underground 2 is the best game in the series to date. Keep in mind graphics are pretty low on my list of what makes a good game. I still play pixelated pong for christ sake, lol.

I still miss the original Need For Speeds, High Stakes, Hot Pursuit etc.
Of the new age I must agree, NFSU2 takes it for me.

The only thing it needed in my eyes to truly be a great arcade racer, was a clutch option. The circuit mode physics engine was great. That was what most of the real drifters used as opposed to the drift mode "circus of slide" as I like to call it.

Yea that would've been a nice addition but I guess nobody really cared about it back then bar us minorities.

Well it wasn't necessary, it would've just been more of a creature comfort. I was thinking something pretty much exactly the same as the way they did it on ProStreet. You could have automatic, manual, or clutch manual.

I figured that was what you meant, but most people who it was aimed at wouldn't bother with the clutch so they probably never even considered it then.

I always used clutch in drifting but on racing I leave it on the auto. You can pretty much just keep tapping the clutch as long as you mix it with the e-brake and keep throttling. But still I'm not much of a person that likes the whole street racing idea. I mean if you wanna go to jail, get your car impounded crushed be my guest but I'd rather go to official races up at tracks.

We're talking about a game where you'll get no real world sanctions so we'll hardly end up in jail for playing a street racing game, which is generally the idea, you're doing something you wouldn't do in real life, and thats basically what games do.

Exactly. My whole problem is not with street racing itself. Its that a series that has made a name for itself with street racing decided to just walk away from the one thing that every gamer associates with the title Need for Speed.
