I rented it... if the physics were better overall i would have bought it. I just dont like the feeling of my car gripped very well, and as soon as the rear starts to slide, it's automatically on ice.
I loved drifting though ;D. The smoke that actually looks real (Prostreet's was nice, but it was always too thick.) And finally, a Soarer!! And a different version of the AE86 was nice too.

I partially agree with your complaint about the physics. I've found that if you turn off the traction control, at first it will seem to make this problem worse, but it really comes down to throttle control. However, the Stability Control is the main reason for this slight physics glitch. The SC is meant to keep the car from spinning, well if the car starts to spin...the computer of the car can only grip for so long before it just quits. In real life outside of games this effect is very real. So in a sense the physics are more realistic than you think. www.youtube.com/watch?v=uss1hMvhdTcThat shows it on the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640. That being said, I love this game. The midnight touge races are a rush on the longer tracks. You really get the feel for the road. Then again I love the Initial D anime/manga series. Up the difficulty and you get some pretty intense battles.
