Firstly I may want to help but im useless and explaining so any1 please copy bits and edit them in replys in thie thread and ill put them in.
Well I know you wont want to use our tunes, so ill giv u more guidelines as oppose to actual settings. Note: Full upgrades accept tyres, (see the individual sections for tyre choice). Plus larger rims can make your car drift better (thanks for reminding me of that Mr Bond... James Bond).
ATL Highway Tuning Traction shud always be very low if not minimum Friction bias shud always be set towards the left (NEVER RIGHT) the further you go the looser ur car becomes, some cars you can go right to the extreme left and the car will still be controllable, others will just spin. Drift Factor, often mistaken as the most important one if u dont know wat ur doing, as a general i leave this til last, it can make your car sort of slide wider, i.e. wen your sliding your car wont turn as easy, you never really need alot tho, and you can use none at all and still go fast, i do quite alot. E-brake, now this isnt tuning but when you make your car fast, ull need it. You'll find your car slides past a certain angle and spins out, to avoid this, flick the handbrake as you steer to counter it. U'll pick up what i mean as you try it.
Oh and incase you didnt already know, stock tyres and manual gears are key, never drift in top gear, always use the gear before, i.e. if your car has 6 gears use 5th, if it has 4 use 3rd etc.

Street Drifting Now i'll start by saying (in opposition to a few people on this forum) highest level tyres can help here. It allows a higher cornering speed, so for the same reason traction should be set high or i always have maximum. The same kind of things apply again but your friction bias wont be as far left, and your drift factor higher. You only need your car to drift in 4th and 5th primarily for speed drifting, but if you wanna hav a car thats quite slow and can drift tighter turns you'll have to ask someone else really cus i dont tend to do it. Although they tend to use stock tyres, and looser (i.e. friction bias further left and perhaps more drift factor? i dno rly) cars which need the E-brake much more, i dont use it much.

Ahhhhhh ;D I see
My brain hurts now though. Too much knowledge into my tiny brain.
I don't understand how I can understand which parts of the brain do a certain thing, and not tuning/drifting.

I could try to make it simpler...
1. get manual (i use L1 and L2 for gear shifting, and R2 for In air controls, and R1 for handbrake)
2. go to arcade-cruise-options-tune your vehicle (mess around with the bars, or set everything to a low level)
3. get large rims, and stock tires (stock sway bars and stock brakes can help a bit too)
4. go on 5th gear on the highway and it should accelerate faster than normal, tap the handbrake and countersteer when it starts to lose control
